A 72-year-old Chinese man living in America has visited nearly 8,000 restaurants in the past 40 years. David R Chan, originally from Los Angeles, is a third generation Chinese-American. He started looking for authentic Chinese food in America as a search for identity.

Chan kept a spreadsheet detailing each restaurant visit, along with thousands of bards and restaurant menus.
